Asking for Help

How are you with asking for help ?

That is a question I have asked many Men and Women in facilitated processes and discussions.

So – How good are You with asking for help ?

Yes, but … explaining how to help will take much longer, than doing it myself.
Yes, but … it will not get done the ‘right’ way – my way.
Yes, but … no one will want to do it.
Yes, but … I can manage.
Yes, but … it’s not that bad anymore.
Yes, but … they won’t have time.
Yes, but … I don’t want to bother them with my stuff.
Yes, but … they surely have got her own problems.

If you use any of the above answers ask yourself

If I am really that bad, why do these people still hang around with me ?!

It takes Trust and Courage to approach a friend and open up, yet in this moment of Vulnerability (check out Brené Brown’s TED talk) time stops and a true connection can be created. These connections can get one through the journey with Depression.
And what’s even better – in my personal case it is the key to it all.
Being me – I, myself and no other. In the four Archetypes – the King.
